STUDIO · SLETTEN

Studio

"Studio · Sletten is a practice shaped by intention. We design to bring calm and clarity into the world through space, through surface, and through structure. What we create is rooted in philosophy and distilled through discipline."

Location

Missouri

"Based in the quiet hills of Madison County, Missouri, Studio · Sletten offers design work that moves beyond place. While our roots are local, our reach is open. We welcome projects both near and far, whether you're just down the road or working from across the country and with today's tools and communication methods, we can collaborate wherever you are."

Our Philosophy

Space

We begin with space, both what is there and what is not. Space is emotional before it is physical. It sets the tone for everything that follows. We ask what it needs to hold, how it needs to move, and who it needs to support. This is where the work begins, with stillness, with sense, and with scale.

Surface

Surface is what we touch. It is how the world meets the work. We choose materials not for trends but for how they feel, how they wear, and how they belong to their setting. Surface is not about style, it is about the connection between person, place, and purpose.

Structure

Structure holds it all together. Every decision and every detail is grounded in a framework that supports clarity and function. From sketches to site, structure ensures the work is not only beautiful but buildable, not only expressive but exact.

Studio Values

Clarity

We seek simplicity not for the sake of minimalism, but to reveal what truly matters.

Balance

Every project holds space between intuition and precision, softness and strength.

Intention

Nothing is arbitrary. Every line, material, and move is rooted in purpose.

Belonging

Design should feel like it belongs: to its place, people, and its environment.

Founder's Note

Tyler M. Sletten

founder, designer

"I'm Tyler, the founder of Sletten · Studio. I created this studio as a space to explore design that feels honest, human, and intentional. I have a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology, but my work moves between disciplines such as graphic design, environmental design, branding, and spatial thinking. Since childhood, I've been drawn to how systems work, whether it's cities, stories, or structures, and I bring that systems thinking into every project. What drives me is clarity. Not just in how something looks, but in how it feels, functions, and fits. I care about the details, the balance of a layout, the tone of a space, and how something communicates before anything is even said. I believe that design should feel like it belongs to a place, a person, or a moment. That belief is at the center of everything I create. If you'd like to work together or learn more about the studio, I'd love to hear from you."
